Sonnet: A Shadow In The Sky! Poem by Dr John Celes

The sky was clear and bright and blue with sun,
Over the tents of Indian tribes, that shone,
Whose life appeared as normal and kept on;
With Eagled shadow’s coming, all seemed gone!

Was it an eagle that heralded death?
Was it a sign of impending, a doom?
Was it a giant bird that came by stealth?
Was it “High Tech’s’ experiment of gloom?

God cares for every creature that He makes
With endless love, finesse and much concern;
With Maker’s nod, some lives are gone – He takes!
Why He allows, no man can ev’r discern?

Like seasons, change our hopes and joys and woes;
But faith protects all creatures from all foes!
