Sonnet: A Sinking Ship Remains Afloat Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: A Sinking Ship Remains Afloat

A ship is sinking fast upon high seas!
It strayed across the ocean waters deep;
The ship is old and crew has some disease;
In stormy climes, afloat, it tries to keep.

The ship wasn't built to take the long journey;
Some captains changed and crew is small in size;
To save the ship, the owners haven't money;
An ice-berg like, it moves causing surprise.

Its many holes should be repaired at once;
Yet, no one sees the urgency at all;
They need to tow it to safety, from guns;
From sinking more, now God alone can stall.

The ship entered a shark-infested place;
Salvaged, if then, the ship can stay in race!
