Sonnet: Cost Of Human-Life Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Cost Of Human-Life

Highest in the ladd’r of Evolution,
The cost of human life is human life;
The Maker’s beloved ultimate creation,
Man; for Adam, He made Eve as wife.

’Tis utter foolishness to away take
Life, after it was allowed to be formed;
Or a cruel, faintest attempt to make
Life; to end it just ’cause it was deformed

Blessed is the man, who saves human lives,
Giving longevity and quality;
Blessed is he who a new lease to give, strives,
For, it is an act of nobility.

The man who prevents a premature death
Is great in God’s eyes, in Heaven and Earth.
