Sonnet-Easter's Coming Fast Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet-Easter's Coming Fast

Rating: 0.5

The Lent has started once again this year;
The time to fast, abstain from spirits, meat;
The time to curb amorous sounds by ear;
The time to be holy; pray more, less eat.

Let’s clean our minds of cob-webs of past sins;
Let’s mop our heart's floor of its sinful stains;
Let’s grace-paint walls and empty soul's sin-bins;
Let’s sacrifice, for God's sake, suffer pains.

The sufferings of Christ is fresh in mind;
His sacred blood shed on the Cross is true;
God's Love redeeming man from hell, we find;
Let’s have remorse for sins and change life's hue.

Let’s do the 'Way of the Cross' fervently;
Amend our lives for God more silently.
