Sonnet: My Life's Journey Poem by Dr John Celes

The things I did and do in life on earth
Were for the good of others - neighbors all;
I hardly thought about myself since birth,
But often had to drink life's bitter gall!

I kept away from others who were bad,
And joys that people tend to enjoy much;
Life's journey seemed quite tough but I am glad,
God stayed by me and gave the healing touch.

God knows the selflessness, my heart afilled;
He kept me safe from blunders at times made;
My life was good and grace of God instilled;
My feats on earth will stay and never fade!

I near my days on earth with heart content;
And yet, I know not what was God's intent!
