Sonnet: On Going Abroad Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: On Going Abroad

Going abroad is good if one affords;
It helps to see and know the world at large;
The beauty of the visit knows no words;
The experience away is worth the charge!

May be, you see skyscrapers and fast cars,
And people spick and span, law-abiding;
May be, you earn more, turning quickly stars;
To some, it serves to go into hiding!

But world is same wherever, you may go;
Discipline, freedom are found everywhere;
As aliens, more stress we must undergo;
There is no place as sweet as home to care.

And when returning, what relief, one gets!
Sun rises in the east and in west, sets!
