Sonnet: Poppy-Seeds Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Poppy-Seeds

’Tis tough to grind poppy seeds to a paste,
By mixie or by any means in haste;
Such is the grittiness of seeds tho’ small,
Invincible a foe, need not be tall.

When united you stand up to your foes,
No might can bring thine heart into chaos;
No war gets lost if army stays one soul;
And patriotism’s a soldier’s goal.

Safeguarding our nation is our duty great;
No citizen succumbs to any bait;
The country’s security is top-most;
Safe must be a nation’s frontiers/ coast.

Indians, do realize this sacred truth,
And fight with thy enemy, nail and tooth.
