Sonnet: Predicament Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Predicament

The present world is treacherous and bad;
The root of all evil is corruption;
Election promises may make all glad;
But are they carried out from inception?

The world believes in deception to core;
Most tongues are blurting lies with often ease;
Most honest citizens are shown the door;
How can the righteous person live in peace?

The plight of common man is terrible;
Roofless, foodless, jobless, most people stay;
The heinous crimes are turning horrible;
Which honest leader can bring on his sway?

Security of property is gone;
The girl-babe’s murdered before being born!
