Sonnet-Rescue Me Lord From These Woods Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet-Rescue Me Lord From These Woods

Show me my way out of these thick, dark woods;
There isn't even a glimmer of Hope-Light;
I need to reach a haven soon for goods;
When day is dark, how much more could be night?

God, get me out of this place very fast;
My life is in peril every moment;
For how much longer can my breath me last?
My earthly -life always remains a Lent.

How much more humiliations I need to bear?
My heart in anguish pleads for reprieve soon;
Yet, I can ne'er forget Thy love and care;
The tarnished Moon will soon become full Moon.

0 God, I'm weary waiting for my turn!
Allow me not in hell to ever burn.
