Sonnet: Soul-Needs Matter Much More Than Body Needs Poem by Dr John Celes

Most try to do the things of transience;
They want to live a life perfect to core;
They're well aware God can't be reached by science!
They're busy doing daily needs and chore.

But Mary chose to listen to Christ Lord,
While Martha was busy preparing food;
To work alone, Martha could not afford;
To Jesus she complained, losing her mood.

But Jesus told her, ‘Mary did right thing;
Soul-needs were far more important and prime;
The soothing touch, the Word of God could bring;
Engrossed in chores was Martha wasting time! '

When man goes after God, he gains His bliss;
When man follows the world, heaven he'll miss!
