Sonnet: Suffering To Heaven Poem by Dr John Celes

Help me to bear my sorrows of my life;
Help me to live in piety, O God;
Help me to keep my faith amidst my strife;
Help me to fight my odds with courage, Lord.

Whatever be the cause of suffering-
Man-made, environmental or by fate,
Give me the strength of will in accepting
Them all, for glorifying Thee till date.

Let me ignore my woes as something naught;
There are some ones who suffer more than me;
Let me thank Thee and not say ’tis my lot;
O God, my soul becomes more heavenly!

Let me take up my cross and follow Thee,
O Jesus Christ- the light, the way, truly.
