Sonnet: The Grace Of God Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: The Grace Of God

The grace of God is more than what we need,
To eke our livelihood, and pass our days
On earth, and propagate our human seed
On mundane soil, keeping heavenly gaze!

The grace of God is what we need in life
To do the things, we ought to do on earth,
Abide by His tenets despite all strife,
And keep the path of righteousness from birth.

The grace of God goads us to pull off feats,
Delightfully, with remarkable ease;
A hasty retreat from us, Satan beats,
As every temptation begins to cease!

The grace of God has power infinite
To make souls pure, and keep heavenly fit!
