Sonnet: The Way Of The World Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: The Way Of The World

Rating: 4.5

The easy routes; short-cut methods, unfair!
Influences form their predominant link;
Their lungs love breathing for life-time foul air;
This is the way of the world- most men think.

Most men with bad demeanour, seem to thrive;
Some men who do misdeeds, keep living long;
And men with evil doings, stay alive;
So, people don't hesitate to do wrong.

The day soon comes when God punishes men,
Who always ignored His basic tenets;
Some evil men are sent to Lion's den;
Some land in penury; prisons and debts.

Alas! 'Tis late to undo one's past sins!
The Righteous, hard-working man always wins!
