Sonnet- The World Is Unsafe Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet- The World Is Unsafe

Rating: 4.5

Who can vouchsafe a man his life these days?
Nothing is safe; more so is human life;
The earth’s spins slower by a man’s sinful ways;
Alas, to rich and poor alike comes strife!

And people kill in broad daylight so oft!
No Bank from robbery appears immune;
Despite threat-calls, the Government appears soft;
Helms-men with goondas live in good commune.

Which twilight art is safe for men, women?
Which big city is free of crimes for all?
Which town on earth two men remains haven?
Morality has had a sure downfall!

Nothing is safe by day or night these days;
The world order must change in umptine ways.
