Sonnet- The World Today(7) Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet- The World Today(7)

In world beset with problems numerous,
We tend to live an ignominious life;
And everywhere, things look so glamorous,
The downtrodden are put to immense strife.

The family-size has dropped to below three;
And many people tend to being gay;
Life’s sense of values is all gone surely;
And people tend to live thus anyway.

No one is sure to be alive next day;
Most people madly go after money;
‘We are the gods and goddesses’, some say;
All things look crazy in our society.

To where the world is heading at this rate?
God only can are suff’ring’s mitigate.
