Sonnet: To Heaven Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: To Heaven

Rating: 5.0

God clears the road for righteous souls to walk,
Removing dangers lurking all along;
He engages with them in loving talk;
And hears their cries and listens to their song.

Leveling paths, without their ups and downs,
God leads them on with ease on lanes so neat;
He guides them through strange lands and alien towns,
Protecting them from extreme cold and heat.

Behold, our Shepherd walks ahead with staff;
His sheep can follow without being lost;
No wolves in sheep-skin or hyenas laugh;
Heaven is only nigh with Holy Ghost!

The Road to Heaven’s narrow but quite straight;
To welcome righteous souls, Angels await.

thank you very much for your reading and appreciating my sonnet.Somehow, God seems to have given me this special gift of sonnet-writing and so, I use it whenever possible to write about God and His great love for souls that He made.Poetry must only help us to seek beauty and truth and that is God.

It does get better farther on for those who have chosen to walk with God's angels. The essence of a faith that has a future is expressed with beauty and simplicity in this wonderful sonnet. Regards, Sandra Fowler
