Sonnet To The Young Poem by Benson Don

Sonnet To The Young

A lifestyle the status quo has spelt out,
to it you myopically conform although it is what you are really not,
you don't mind as long as, it is the norm.
You're carried away by celebrities,
who only impersonate the real life,
drowning you in a pool of fantasies
while let for space reality to strife.
From the pages of novels you get things,
which form mindsets and then you turn into.
You vaguely approach life as it's in scenes,
your fall will not match that of iroko.
Take cognizance! Life is never a film,
you won't wake to realize it's a dream.
