Sonnet: Word Of God Poem by Dr John Celes

The special grace endowed in me by God,
Goads me to write to men about the Word,
Through pow’r of wisdom coming from the Lord,
So that, more flock can hear the Good Shepherd!

The Holy Spirit writes these wonder-words,
So that ev’n atheists may believe the Lord,
Who feeds and cares for human beings, birds –
And they abide and accept Him as God.

The words can pierce through hearts of stone and clay,
And give it love that flows from God above;
Even the dragon in them, Word can slay:
They acknowledge the one true God and bow!

The Word of God has power eternal,
And fills the soul with God’s grace cardinal!
