Sonny Koan Poem by Sonny Rainshine

Sonny Koan

A perfectly healthy
young man
and an eighty-year-old woman
with a cane and poor sight
found themselves needing
to cross a busy street.

The healthy young man
tapped the bent old lady
on the shoulder and said:
'Will you help me across the street? '

The old woman
helped the young man across
the busy street and then said:
'Thank you, young man.'

Why was the old woman grateful?
