Soon... Dusk The Assassin (Ra's Descent) Poem by Marcus McKinley

Soon... Dusk The Assassin (Ra's Descent)

Emptiness, without you by my side

Three quarters past
Approaching the autumnal
With it, an uneasy feeling
Thoughts, an impending funeral

Unrested, he misses Dawn

Staving off the comforts of sleep
Endless light, unbearable
Contemplating, his actions deep
For what he's done is unrepairable
Dreaming for the early morn', regrettable
Lifeless eyes, an endless void
Missing Dawn, he can't avoid

Life is death postponed, he said

Familiar words, from a fleeting girl
Her message, he now yearns
Dusk conspires upon the equinox
The elliptic cycle starts to turn

Life is death postponed, he sighs
On the horizon, Dusk cloaked in shadow
A spark of life comes to his eyes
The bladed edge of Dusk, whips like willow

Brings rest,
brings peace,
brings ease
Brings back to him,
Dawns pretty face
When next, he'll rise to seize
