Souham

Any Indian may delightfully say about sauham
Beautifully liked and loved by heart as bare minimum
Raad* another word with meaning as loud proclaim
As if thunder was to lash ground and claim

Name is so appealing and beautiful
Its meaning is also purposeful
In such selfish world you find people
Of some good qualities but you got to struggle

To me it looked out to be of sky with promises
What to speak of clouds and its thunderous noise
I felt natural urge with no other choice
She was to be my star and real voice

She has profound knowledge in Arabic and English
As scholar may always have delicate touch and finish
She is one among shining star
Though living under shadow and very far

I opened talk by saying carefully
'It makes sad when you speak nothing' really
As if you hold in reserves there and hide
I had much more urge to consult and confide

I guessed yet failed to think 'what it could be'?
I had inkling that she was brilliant and free
Not surrounded by hostile environment
Or with any kind of restricted movement

I wanted to be close and stay near
To know the views about freedom and fear
As happens in orthodox environment
But her country was advanced in all the movements

'So can talk without any fear' I started
'Converse on the matter related to soft side dear'
If you are really concerned about and willing
'Of course yes, was the answer for void feeling?

The end was like golden opportunity
It was afforded by an almighty
She spoke with open mind
Of all generosity and with heart very kind

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
