Soul Walls Poem by Carol Fleming Klein

Soul Walls

Thro' the crowd
our eyes catch
an instant attraction sparks
drawing us together
I feel drowned
in the firm sureness
of your grip
and the intense blue
of your gaze.

Then in fear
I create soul walls
which leave me standing
in the cold
as I watch you walk away

If I had that time again
I would ask
for your help
breaking down the barricades
and melting the blocks of ice.
