Soulful (For David)



soulful
look into those eyes, he’s
soulful
changing filth into beauty
with sorrow by the bowlful
he’s so lush
so sad
so dark
and soulful
strong and sensitive,
hands like deep-rooted trees
i wish they’d
grow
grow on me,
so warm and right
distant
and
soulful.
