Soulmates Poem by Srita Sri

Soulmates

Days and months passed,
years flew and as i become more weak,
on a fine day, i met love.

With just one question in mind for the mankind,
i approached love with little excitement.
love, you never come to the one who awaits
like the pain of labour, what you bring is assured
tears and agony, suffering and hurts,
yet why do people fall for you?
Accept everything as worth an experince?

Love smiled and answered...
I too fell in love with Happiness,
we danced around and laughed all way to the paradise
forgetting who we are, our roots, our beliefs
Little did i expect to see light from the other side,
A ray so strong, a force i couldn't deny,
came like a wave and embraced us
That was sadness...our soulmate

It was a union none could stop
hand in hand we travel, for centuries in love
Love laughed with tears rolling down its cheek.
