Souls Keep Searching Poem by robert ortiz

Souls Keep Searching

I looked death in the face and just for a moment I was completely ready for it.
For I did not fear death, but the thought of never holding you again.
The situation wasn’t as you thought chance had brought us together, nothing planned,
or seen, or guessed. Lady luck was looking over her shoulder,
and saved a soul who other wise wouldn’t be here today.
The tears I try to hold back but the emotion is too strong.
Oh though
My life was almost lost in a blink of an eye.
I wish it would have been because due to fate. I’ve lost you.
