Southern Brother Poem by Carolyn Michael

Southern Brother

Your skin surrounds strange beauty,
So blinding and pure as if
An inadvertent miracle began you.
I know one day if the earth is sick,
Your soul may drip with a cure.
Soaking cities and mountaintops,
Soothing sores and fevers.
You can cause dreams where
We experience emotions unknown to us
In our naked waking life,
And make us long for them when we rise.
You can create a place where
Time slips and crumbles,
Where if you were to see a pink sky
You would not know if it was
Sunrise or sunset.
