Spanish Seve Poem by Francis Duggan

Spanish Seve

He is the bloke who hails from Barcelona
Seve the dark haired brown eyed one from Spain
His English one might say is not quite perfect
The reason for that is not hard to explain.

Since English to him not even a second language
Though at speaking it he gives it his best try
And he can be understood though with some effort
The willingness to learn of him one cannot deny.

In the Northern Spring he will return to Barcelona
April in Spain is a lovely time of year
The birds will be singing in the groves and parkland
Their melodious notes so pleasant for to hear.

He is in his early twenties Spanish Seve
One might say that his English is not good
But he is proving to be a fast learner
And with some effort he makes himself understood.
