Speck Of Dust

I hadn't been in my office for
eternity, when I flung the door
open
I couldn't help but notice that dust
was dominating every surface
I took a closer look and
I vividly saw how minute a speck
of dust is
my mind wondered how many of
these specks of dust was used
by God in creating Adam
I wondered if it is the same dust
that my body will mingle with
when the spirit departs
when the spirit goes to its eternal
place of abode
this body is nothing but specks of
dust amazingly put together
speck of dust

poet Rupert Brooke

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
