Spine Of Mine Poem by Michelle Claus

Spine Of Mine

Rating: 5.0

Spine of mine
Spine of mine
What will bind
This spine of mine?

Extra-crazy-super glue?
Sticky roasted-marshmallow goo?
Staples? Tape? A stitch or two?

Of little use
Are pieces loose
My story scatters
Words vamoose

Must align
Every line
Must adjust
This spine of mine

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This goes out to everyone who has spinal issues, with a large dose of compassion and a medium dose of humor. (Just for fun, it can be read from the point of view of a person with a troubled spine or from the point of view of a book.)

I think this is very clever in it's humor and helping with awareness of the health issues there. My best friend has spinal issues and it's painful to see her go through it. I know she'd see the humor too though. Awesome piece.
