Spring! Poem by Paul Wilson

Spring!

Here
My thoughts gather them; Spring;
A flock! (thoughts gather –
A key-in-lock) .
My thoughts are gathered here together –
Spring!
Is maybe the name of the same old clock
Here gathered into?

Gathered fixity of form
Form of galax, nightly new
Gathered shape (up into cloud)
And light (into surprise!)
Into sunrise
(crows shadow flight) .

Reeds stir (rain) – nebula –
Rain rain rain –
At a finite point
Waterround stir
If the water will not speak
I will cast the message out
(i.e. if the water will not speak) .

By the lake (the season’s chart)
He caught, in frozen, lightframed form
Remembered destiny.
In mercury flight of water, blown
At a finite point, the seed is sown
(IE in mercury waters (still) by sight
quicksilver image / seed is sown
and framed in light (the flock is flown)) .

Leaping signature of world!
I) cannot be
My sunflung me
(my rain my
mother) hide in cloud but
bURST in LIGHT so
Heed my flight.

RAINDOWN (rain doom) hath
No bird: SUNG?
Thoughtsilent gaTHER –
The clock is sprung!)

(here; silent sound returns –
spring (a drain) carries
cloudcast sound back to me now and
to nothing) again.

The rainbow quest
Of time is torn
Into (sunrise) this leaping
(form) I spoke
And this my own ‘is’ born:
- conscious light
Gath’ring thru
The (same old clock
tic toc tic toc) : dusk
(gath’ring round the raindark? lock

The raging gap the windrush thru’
The clock is crock will
Nothing do? Beware, the cock,
The cock is crew!

Flowers of lightning of
‘I’ – this rain
Be my beginning
(mother again) .
