Spring Lament Poem by Cliff Kick

Spring Lament

The great, green rush of spring
is upon me, frail blossoms
tremble in silver sheets of rain
But there will be no bloom
in this half-penny heart
despite lovely days of May
No, mere memories now
dim ghosts of perished days
loom in the gathering dusk
