Spring Scenes Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Spring Scenes

The highway is gray but
Spring wears every shade of green
To enhance the traveler’s journey!
Evergreens and tall pines lean,
Spruce, elm, grand oak so high,
Dogwoods with white blooms
Tease the eye as we rush by.
Forsythia linger in yellow bright,
Daffodils have gone out of sight
Azaleas show off from time to time
At least in that garden of mine…
Yet green is the theme of Spring,
Every other color bows in praise!
