Stab World Poem by Martin Byrne

Stab World

I've started walking with a swagger
That t.v. done stabbed me with it's dagger

MTV is the life of flat-top hats and surreal mansions
Now my clothes are lookin fly and fat instead of handsome
My swagger ain't from no special dagger
It was stabbed itself in China and Mexico by
Overworked ladies in sweatshops
Needle stab dagger
Dagger stab me
Walking bulletin board stab world
Stab, stab, stab
(What ingenious design!)

Children sitting with perplexed faces
I left my knife on the floor, it's shiny
and cool
My kid, flesh, and bone from my withered marrow
Is walked in upon, stabbed, by me
I walked in upon my stabbed world
I do stab this world and many others
Stabstabstab
Drawing the knife out, my marrow is a
Sex pistil seeking a stamen... stamens

Beg not do that
Need you go school
Fade I do
Into death
Into the thick sheets of MTV
Wake, wake, wake
Cry, Cry, Cry
