Stand Back Poem by Francis Duggan

Stand Back

Stand back and leave the one who is without sin be the first to cast the stone
And that's not you Mr President your sins to all are known
If you are all that wonderful as you tell us that you are
Why are you driven around with bullet proof glass in your Presidental car?

If you are such a decent human being I really wonder why
So many want to harm you and wish you for to die?
You refer to them as terrorists they say the same of you
They say it takes one for to know one perhaps that might be true.

Because of you the World is more dangerous though you don't see it that way
And because of your arrogance and stupidity all of humanity must pay
I sense in you a lack of wisdom each time that I hear you speak
Your policies make the wealthy wealthier and you punish the poor and weak.

How come often to unworthy people we give away our power
And because of you and people like you people dying in war zones every hour
Billions spent on war weaponry yet I often wonder why
In a World where some have too much thousands of malnutrition die?

Stand back and leave the one who is without sin be the first to cast the stone
And that's not you Mr President your sins to all are known
You talk of human rights and freedom yet you only give us fear
And your Unenlightened preaching I no longer wish to hear.
