Stand Proud And Tall Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Stand Proud And Tall

Rating: 5.0

Stand proud and tall!
Down the crowded street a color guard comes
With loud, patriotic music, vibration of drums,
A flash of color fluttering before the eyes.

Stand proud and tall!
The Stars and Stripes is passing by

Red, white, and blue clearly defined
Attached to a flag pole precise and refined

Stand proud and tall!
The Stars and Stripes before us fly,
A reminder of the Nation's conflicts is passing by.

Naval battles and land conflicts fierce and great
Involving consequences controled by fate,
Vigorous skirmishes and embattled ships,
A loud cry of victory on swollen and parched lips.

Days of prosperity and years of peace,
Progress of a sturdy Nation's rapid increase,
Equality and inalienable rights, respect for law,
Devoted national honor and revered awe.

Image of a Nation grand and strong
Protecting her citizens from tyrannical wrong,
Pride and glory and honor for all,
Embedded in the flag to endure or fall.

Stand proud and tall!
Down the crowded street a color guard comes
With loud, patriotic music, vibration of drums
And humble hearts beating and emotions high.

Stand proud and tall!
The Stars and Stripes is passing by.

A real rousing poem much enjoyed. Colour and loyalty and pride. Nothing wrong with any of those, or the poem Steve
