Stand Tall Poem by Fallen Too Far

Stand Tall

I wish you could see how many times I've started
And stopped and erased my words
Trying to find just the right ones
The ones that will show you my heart, my thoughts
But alas I am failing miserably

I thought about you today,
Missed the sound of your voice and your words
So i visited you
And when I did, my heart hurt
For your words had no color
Though they decorated the page
They were lined up like somber soldiers awaiting battle
They whispered pain
And I wondered where you could be
And I wished that I could tell you Happy Birthday
(I wanted to wish you well, but I didn't)

I wondered what was going on
The day you turned 19
I wondered if it was all okay
And wished I had your address so I could send you my love
Wrapped up in a box with a ribbon on it
But more than that
I wished I could say it'll be okay

I understand your pain

Im not exactly sure what to say
But I want you to know
That I care
I want you to see the words
And have them imprinted in your mind
For all time

If there was a time in your life where I could change
Any hurt you have and bring you joy
I would
In a moment
Because you are something special
And you were created
For something truly more amazing than you can even understand

Any hardship, any heartache that you may have
Will make you stronger
So stand ready for the day
For when all seems to fall all around you,
When you feel the very earth trembling under itself
You alone will be left standing
