Stand Up To Them Poem by Nicola Kelly

Stand Up To Them

Answer back don't let them win

They practice daily sharpening their tongue,
With a comment cutting deep into you,
Plumping up their own ego at,
Your expense that's what they do.

Small minded and shallow at that,
With their own insecurities which is when,
They victimise the sensitive, the loner,
The one who is different to them.

There comes a day when you know,
That you cannot take any more,
By getting to you they are winning,
Its time to show them the door.

With each tongue lashing just reply,
If you don't have anything nice,
To say don't say anything at all,
To you this would be my advice.
