Stanza # 20 Willow Poem by John A. Hancock

Stanza # 20 Willow

The mistress Willow grew whilst the fairies sang
In the guise of a bumbleberry tree
Under the Goddess's watchful eye
A beautiful wood nymph she came to be
Her sylph like branches arc'd in a graceful pose
From a mystic ballet she dances thru the night
Beneath the wise one's leaves she leaps
Playfully in the full moon's silvery light
Enchanted ones we give thee thanks
As you guard well our humble home
So safely we can rest in peaceful slumber
Whilst your woodland spirits roam
