Starburst Kisses Poem by Abby Wesson

Starburst Kisses

Do you ever feel that sizzle in your mouth?
The brief moment before you set it on your tongue
It twinges with apprehension
It’s the same way with a kiss
You wait unknowing to discover a popping a taste
And the time before you actually feel the flavor
You wonder
That’s the best feeling
It doesn’t matter what color of wrapping you get
Just as long as you’re ready after you’ve opened it
Because if you’re not the bursting won’t be discovered
You must savor the passion of your starburst kiss
And dream you’ll receive another bite
