Starflower I Remember You Poem by Waseem Sherif

Starflower I Remember You

Starflower
I remember you now
but let's rewind

Me on the green path
going back to where the brightest smile
is missing mine

I parted the breeze
As I marched up the hill
so eager to be there
my gaze flew miles away,
up and straight to home

but I was oblivious
little did i notice
the majestic cavalcade
in blue and white

ignorantly
I walked like a king
my head up high
in anticipation of the longing smile

I was blind
for you were there
at the corner of my eyes

and now...
at the sight of your name,
in melancholy, it all came back to me

Starflower.
I brushed by you in indifference
while you cared for my feelings
and paved my way home.

Starflower
I remember you in all my shame
I remember you in all your grace
