Starlight

A thousand stars glint in our direction
They listen intently to the words you whisper
We lay in golden fields and take in the hushing of the grass
as the mysterious wind gently breathes life into the emerald blades
You take my hand in yours and as our fingers entwine
our worlds blend
our stars cross
the jagged edges of our broken hearts fit together as one
and the future neatly places the road to adventure under our feet

My eyes glitter and turn to the sky
You move to my ear and gently whisper
'I'll keep you safe under the stars
and if morning never comes
then you'll stay here in my arms
and we'll spend forever in the starlight
...right where we belong'
