Stay Poem by Thomas Dooley

Stay

Can't look me in the face
When all you got is hate
I stay here to make a change
You leave because of a false reality

Stay
Because hate is a state of mind
Diversity is a reality of life
Stay
You're not the only one who wants to hide
When all the bully wants to do is fight

Got to meditate and pray
There is going to be a better day
Can't just sleep the nightmare away
Soon we have to wake

Stay
Because hate is just a lie
Diversity can't be an orphaned child
Stay
You're not the only one in this world
It will still turn with or without you

It is easier to tell a lie
Than it is to prove the truth
Who is going to make that noise
When we are bout to lose our voice

Stay
Because hate is the foundation of the ego
Diversity is a positive virtue made for me and you
Stay
You know you have to lead the way
Strength is in the words of peace and love
