Step OFF...Sweetie

  The road ahead is empty
What’s ‘round the coming bend
Will I find an answer?
To help this heartache mend

I’ve walked this road to nowhere
I’ve stumbled along the way
Always giving in to passion
I’ve allowed my heart to stray

Still, my body keeps on burning
Each time that you draw near
And my spirit stays so hungry
For your whispers in my ear

Though you won’t admit to passion
Yet, you can’t let me go
So who’s fooling who?
This I need to know

Because, baby if you don’t want me
Then please just hurry on
Don’t let me hold you up
As I can walk alone

And never fool yourself
As if you can’t be replaced
You’re just another pharisee
One of many I have faced

And, if flesh were all that’s needed
There’s plenty to be found
I could avoid the aggravation
There’s enough to go around

So, go ahead and “step off”
Do what you need to do
Cause the view from where I’m standing
Looks as though we’re through

And I won’t stand by crying
What’s gone is surely gone
I’d rather watch you leaving
Than stay and be your pawn

So remember my sweet kisses
And the flesh that haunts your nights
Cause baby, I'm moving on!
To someone who treats me right!

I would say a very confident and assertive write
unless theres more but out of sight?

The Poem carried me through to the end
a very good write.
