Still A Man's Best Friend - Poem by RIC S. BASTASA

a dog is a good
you take it with
in your arms
towards the door
of the house
into a garden
into a path that
leads to the woods
and you walk
with it
and you think a
lot and
the dog
does not speak

you like this
the world listens
the dog
waggles its tail
and moves
ahead of you

always the best
of friends.
