Stories Told In Bed Poem by Vaughn Bekker

Stories Told In Bed

Rating: 5.0

Of all the nursery rhymes been told
Some just never seem to get old
From penokio`s nose that grew when he told a lie
To the little old lady who swallowed a fly

A grumpy pirate and his wooden leg
Or the duck that laid a golden egg
From repunzel and her very long hair
Or prince charming and all his flair

The gingerbread man who got tricked by a fox
Or a little girl called Goldie lox
Or what about the old man that bumped his head
Or the little boy with his wooden sled

Or Hans and Gretel that lost their way
Or a brave night that the dragon did slay
Or the princess that kissed a frog
Or the rabbit that lived in a log

Peter pan and captain hook
To a wizard and his magic book
Or twinkle twinkle little star
And the big bad wolf who`s the worst by far

From little Bo pep who lost her sheep
To rumpelstilskin who forever did sleep
Form little boy blue and his horn
Or the mice that followed the piper across the lawn

Or the cow that jumped over the man on the moon
Or the kid that was born with a silver spoon
Or the crooked man and his crocked house
Or the fat cat and the little mouse

Form three blind mice who lost their tails
To jack and Jill and water pails
Or hickory hickory dickory dock
And the mouse that ran up the clock

Or the giant shouting fee fy fo fum
I smell the blood of an Englishman
Or peter peter pumpkin eater
Who probably just wanted something sweeter?

Or the muffin man or the spider and the fly
Or jacks beanstalk that reached the sky
Or the little old lady who lived in a shoe
That had so many kids she didn`t know what to do

The king’s horses and kings men
That could not dumpty together again
Or the black sheep and all his wool
That ended up with three bags full

Or sleeping beauty and seven little men
Who came home to her inside their den
Cinderella who lost her shoe at the ball
I`m surprised that down those stairs she did not fall

Or the wolf that down the pigs chimney came
and ended up in the pot all the same
Or the three bears that came home and said
who the hell`s been sleeping in my bed

or nick nak paddy wack
that dog just needed a smack
or old mother hubberd who wanted to give a dog a bone
silly old duck she lived alone

gorgie porgie that made the girls cry
he made them blush i don’t know why
or the little doggie in the window that sat
probably because he did poo on the mat

or one two three four five
and having to catch a fish alive
or how everybody runs and squirms
when you tell them I’m going to eat some worms

Or one two buckle my shoe
Clearly of laces they never knew
Or jack be nimble jack be quick
I don’t want to know what he did with the candle stick

So if there are any that I left out
Like spider that came down the water spout
For the kids in bed at night they sleep
Hoping no monsters under the bed do creep

So no matter how many times they get told
They just don`t seem to get old
So now of course and just in time
this is the end of my nursery rhyme
