Stories Vs. Humanity Poem by Ellen Mckinnon

Stories Vs. Humanity

Rating: 5.0

Many wonder why one so young, loses themselves in books so,
Some snob intelligence some sneer insanity,
Yet the answer is, the characters in books and words, do not lie,
They tell a story of love or life or find.
While 'real' beings walk and lead pointless lives, blind,
While each story has a beginning, a middle and an end
People lives drag on for too long and too far,
For characters are as real as you or I,
They teach, touch and guide more then most the difference is that, they only live in words,
Not actions.
