Storms Of Life Poem by Marilyn Lott

Storms Of Life

Rating: 5.0

Life was difficult in the old days
Hardship was a daily word
For water running from the tap
Was a convenience never heard

Folks were poor, really poor
Dirt poor was a term often used
From sun up till sun down
Where help was never refused

There wasn’t much help around
For neighbors had enough
To manage their own daily lives
With hands over-used and tough

By the time the farm was worked
And they had their animals to feed
Nearly too tired to sleep at night
They had a lot of emotional needs

So they were never too weary
Day or night to bow their heads
They knew that God was their Savior
They prayed to Him from their beds

“Oh Lord, please keep me strong
Physically and mentally too
I try to do the best I can each day
I turn my life right over to you”

And that was all they could do
As the brilliant sun would set
For of all the friends you can find
God is the best friend you can get!
