Story Telling Poem by RAJ NANDY

Story Telling

STORY TELLING

Please don't tell me stories with only
kings, queens and knights in it;
And of fairies dancing in the silvery hours
of moonlit night!
But tell me those stories which can,
Make someone forget the hunger pangs!
Which would make hope blossom anew,
In a heart gone barren, like the desert land!
Tell me stories which will quench the thirst
of a parched soul,
About healing the diseased and making
them whole!
Stories which will draw us closer in a
spirit of cordiality,
Despite our many differences and diversity;
Stories, which will make us all believe in a
single faith, called Humanity!
