Street Song Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Street Song

Rating: 5.0

(dedicated to Mr. Renaud Capuçon, a talented violinist)

narrow
cobbled
fishing villages
gripped by passion

easels
flagstones
small squares
central fountain

low and dry
stone walls
coolness
Summer

warm
gaiety
bathed in
evening light

shadows
sunsets
surrounds
scenes

silent wind
inner existence
introspective paths
pleasure loneliness

(inspired by Felix Vallotton's Street in old Cagnes at sunset)

The metaphors give meat to the feelings you express and help the imagination. (cobbled/ fishing villages /gripped by passion; flagstones /central fountain /stone walls) . You involve a lot of the senses.
