Strength Poem by Emily Torres

Strength

Rating: 5.0

strength isnt measured by muscle or anger.
not by a crown and a robe.
not even the ability to love.
strength to me is being able to hold yourself up
when the world keeps pushing you down.
its showing the world you have a smile
no matter how much you want to frown.
its listening to him talk about her
and telling him your happy that hes happy.
its being able to see him kissing her
and still stand tall.
still hold that smile
and the ability to introduce yourself.
its realizing that this world
isnt gonna be all rainbows and sunshine
but if you cant make it through the rain
you cant have the rainbow
so keep walking and pushing yor way through
because thats the real strength
as you fight your way through the dark
you remain strong and keep telling yourself
there's a sun somewhere, i just have to find it.
